We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual to assist in contributing to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities support under the direction of the Principal, Facilities Manager, or General Manager.You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.About the RoleDemonstrated ability to maintain Grounds and FacilitiesAbility to conduct minor repairs and maintenance (Reactive & Planned) to Grounds and Facilities (except jobs that require a qualified tradesperson)Proven experience working with machinery, including maintenance and record keepingCapability to perform activities consistent with workplace health and safety guidelinesAbility to liaise with various internal and external personnel (e.g., tradespersons) on a variety of repair and maintenance issuesResponsible for a range of activities required by the administration teamFurther role-specific criteria:Proven experience working with machinery, including maintenance and record keepingKnowledge of or ability to gain knowledge of tools and equipment including school mowersDemonstrated awareness of health and safety requirementsKnowledge or ability to gain knowledge in schoolMore about you:Willingness to undertake specific training to enhance skills as necessaryDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a teamProven ability to build strong working relationships and rapport with a diverse range of peopleAbility to work independently, be self-motivated, proactive, and show initiativeIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelExcellent organisational, communication, and time management skillsAbility to think logically and solve problemsMaintain strict confidentiality as per the Code of Conduct for Qld Public ServantsMandatory requirements:A criminal history check will be initiated on the successful applicant.In accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000, the successful applicant must hold a current Working with Children Check clearance (Blue Card).This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description.
