More information can be found on theTo be eligible for this position you must be PGY 4 + from February 2025 The Cardiac Surgery Department of The Canberra Hospital is a busy service supported by excellent imaging and diagnostic facilities.DUTIES 1. Provide competent and efficient clinical management of patients of Canberra Health Services under the supervision and direction of (a) Consultant Medical Practitioner(s). The clinical management includes acute admissions, in-patient care, outpatient clinics, inter -disciplinary consults and clinical handover;2. Maintain a co-operative relationship with the Emergency Department and participate in the after-hours and on-call roster;3. Participate in the supervision, training and professional development of junior medical staff and work within and support the multidisciplinary clinical team;4. Demonstrate progress in training in the specialty including participation in the relevant teaching program and activities, timely completion of assessments and involvement in research;5. Contribute to clinical audit and participate in changes that improve quality and safety of patient care;6. Maintain adequate and legible medical record and ensure that the clinical team completes discharge summaries in a timely manner;7. Comply with the policies and requirements of the Medical Board Australia and the policies of ACT Health. The ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of people.Position Requirements/Qualifications: Mandatory: · Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); and· Currency in an Advanced Life Support Course to be attained within three months of commencement with annual refreshers;· To be eligible for this position you must be PGY 4 + by February 2025, prior to the commencement of the role.· Demonstrate commitment to training and continuing professional development including participation in relevant teaching programs, activities, and feedback opportunities, involvement in research, and teaching of junior medical staff and/or medical students.CHS is leading the drive to digitally transform health service delivery in Australia through the implementation of a territory wide Digital Health Record. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership where required, with demonstrated well developed communication and interpersonal skills;4. A commitment to the importance and provision of teaching at all levels, including medical, nursing, scientific and allied health professional staff, both postgraduate and undergraduate; and5. Demonstrates understanding of, and adherence to, safety and quality standards, work, health and safety (WH&S) and the positive patient experience.
