The Position
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales Manager – Agriculture, will drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and develop strong partnerships across the supply chain and represent the brand and products across Australia. The position has one (1) direct report and works closely with distribution partners and the farming community to ensure the product range is maximised in the marketplace. Omya products are produced in Australia in their own production facilities which provide a secure supply chain and an ability to leverage growing demand and sales.
The business is currently primed for its next stage of growth and with a mix of new business and existing business opportunities, you will conduct sales visits and activity to achieve sales and growth targets. Activities will also include industry events, field days, conferences, and conducting product trials with farming partners.
The Person
We would like to hear from you if you have the following background, experience and key attributes:
1. Proven success in driving sales growth in the agricultural sector, with a track record of exceeding targets
2. Be an experienced sales professional comfortable with both new business development and long-term client relationship management
3. Possess an understanding of farming production systems, ideally with an exposure to one or more across horticulture, sugarcane, pasture and broadacre
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, account management and long-term stakeholder engagement skills
5. Background in representing a company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, including the ability to deliver company presentations
6. Exceptional team player, with the ability to sell a technical product, be a self-starter and highly passionate and someone who drives proactive results through partnerships
7. Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture Science, Business or related discipline
The position will require frequent travel within Australia and occasionally beyond and will suit someone who is either an established sales manager or someone who is looking to step up and build their own team over time.
