About the role:
As a Site Supervisor, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safe and efficient daily operation of our primary nursery facility. This role may require overseeing the yard as needed. Reporting directly to the Site Manager, you will lead a team of sales assistants/nursery hands and site workers, ensuring a commitment to high standards of customer service, product presentation, and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a culture of safety first, ensuring compliance with ASQ policies and procedures, with a focus on Operational and Workplace Health, Safety, and Environment (WHSE) management systems.
2. Oversee the safe and efficient daily operation, including customer service, negotiation with suppliers, and maintaining optimum product conditions.
3. Manage staff, approve timesheets, participate in recruitment, and provide training and feedback to ensure a motivated and well-prepared team.
4. Efficiently allocate tasks to staff based on their strengths and expertise, ensuring smooth daily operations.
5. Provide valuable insights and suggestions for plant ordering, contributing to the diverse and appealing product range.
6. Cultivate strong and positive relationships with suppliers to enhance product quality and availability.
Key Selection Criteria:
1. Must have relevant tertiary qualification in Horticulture or appropriate industry training courses.
2. Minimum two years of horticulture and supervisory experience.
3. Ability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
4. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
6. Strong work ethic, organisational and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to work in a team environment and promote a culture of teamwork.
