As an Engineering Manager (Structures), you will lead and participate in activities which may include: structural assessment, design review, lifecycle asset management, risk management, asset monitoring, structural and material assurance activities and governance. You will draw on your comprehensive structural engineering experience to ensure departmental structural assets are managed over their full life cycle and optimised to deliver value for money robust and fit for purpose infrastructure. This role will involve leading the development of improvements relating to lifecycle management of structures including assessing relative risk and priority of structural maintenance work and renewals reflective of levels of service.
Drawing upon your engineering experience you will also contribute to the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) and other funded delivery programs. You will demonstrate the ability to lead, strategically analyse and deliver on a range of engineering activities. You will be responsible for taking a lead on technical and sustainable aspects of asset management of existing bridges. You will manage a small team involved in structural inspections, the development and review of repair and rehabilitation solutions, technical approval and implementation of a lifecycle asset management plan.
To perform the role effectively you will demonstrate proactive and responsive leadership and team management as well as interface regularly with various colleagues, clients and stakeholders both within TMR, other government agencies and private industry. You will employ high level communication and project / program management skills as well as sound negotiation and organisational skills.
