The Role:
As a member of the North West Social Work service, the incumbent will, as part of a multidisciplinary team at Mersey Community Hospital:
1. Provide Senior Social Work leadership and contribute to the development, provision, and evaluation of Social Work services for consumers and their families and/or the community; in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and the Code of Conduct of the Tasmanian Health Service.
2. Mentor and supervise Social Work staff and practices in accordance with current models, professional standards and the AASW Code of Ethics.
3. Actively pursue patient centred Social Work interventions that aim to minimise the impact of chronic or acute health conditions.

The Team:
Our hospital-based Social Workers provide psychosocial support to inpatients and outpatients at both hospitals including Emergency, General Medicine and Surgery, Rehabilitation, Women's and Children's and Palliative Care services.
Our community-based Social Workers provide hospital avoidance, wellness and reablement and groupwork support to clients through Primary Health funded services.

Fixed Term, part time, day worker position working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing from 25 September 2023 until 30 August 2024

4. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $103,608 to $119,430 pro rata per annum + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging
5. Please note that access to salaries beyond $111,964 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
6. Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
11. Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
12. Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
13. Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a “certification of eligibility” letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership to the AASW
Or where regulatory requirements exist, NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements

15. Current Working with Children Registration
