Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) Senior Software Engineer Canberra ACT The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for all significant system/service uplift across the National Policing Information (NPI) Service portfolio.The role is responsible for planning, developing, maintaining and enhancing NPI systems, components and processes.You will apply technical knowledge in the development, maintenance and operation of NPI software applications.The key duties of the position include: A strategic thinker who can lead/work with and inspire a multi-disciplinary team.Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task to meet deadlines and manage competing tasks.A persuasive communicator who develops and maintains productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Uses critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving skills to identify solutions to complex business/system problems.Contributes where needed to the development of briefings, papers, submissions and correspondence papers for use in internal and external decision-making forums. Essential Skills and Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in fields related to the role and level you are applying for.Experience working with or leading ICT project teams using waterfall or Agile delivery methodology.Experience in using Microsoft Office or equivalent for documenting, organizing information, delivering presentations and processing data.Is well organised and detail focused, with the ability to prioritise and multi-task to meet deadlines and manage competing tasks.Demonstrated experience in supporting or developing software systems, in particular in environments based on Java, JEE frameworks and containerisation (Kubernetes), Oracle, Unix, Windows, HTML5, CSS, Typescript, Javascript, React.Demonstrated experience in supporting or integrating software products from third party vendors, including commercial or government off the shelf.
