Who are we?
The NDIS Partners in the Community Program (PITC) supports the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to be implemented locally.
As an NDIA partner, Northcott will deliver the NDIS Early Childhood Approach (ECA) service to local communities in Northern NSW, Mid North Coast, Hunter New England, North Sydney, and Western Sydney. The EC approach supports activities that improve the independence and social participation of children aged 0-9 with developmental delay and/or disability.
The EC Team Leader will be required to lead a developing and experienced Coordinators team. The Team Leader will have the opportunity to provide strengths-based leadership and support with NDIA planning, connect with the local community to build networks and pathways and create inclusion opportunities for children with disabilities and their families.

What does this role look like daily?
* Engage with and support Coordinators to effectively engage with families to gather information on the child that provides relevant evidence of their disability, developmental delay and/or functioning.
* Provide support to coordinators to undertake observations of children in their natural environment to assess their functioning and support needs.
* Based on professional judgement and information gathered, provide recommendations that are most appropriate to improving the child’s development and social participation.
* Work with and support coordinators to help families identify their goals and aspirations for their child.
* Support Coordinators to provide information to families that will assist them to source appropriate service provider(s), including registered providers of support, to implement their approved plan.
* Assess and review the child and family's progress against originally defined goals.
* Implement strategies that work toward meeting the performance measures of the ECA program.
* Establish and maintain effective relationships with local and regional stakeholders.
The skills and experience we are looking for:
* Minimum Diploma Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences, Early Childhood Education, Allied Health or other relevant professional field.
* Experience providing supervision and support to frontline professionals with intensive and complex caseloads.
* Extensive experience working with children with disability and their families.
* Experience in connecting and building working relationships with local community and mainstream services.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills – written, oral and listening.
* Demonstrated experience in working and negotiating with government departments.
* Demonstrated experience supporting and implementing early childhood intervention strategies with families using a capacity-building approach.
Other requirements include:
* Current Driver's Licence - P1 minimum.
* Valid Working with Children’s Check Clearance - mandatory.
* Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDIS WC) – mandatory.
* Working Rights in Australia for Full-Time Employment.
* Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (including minimum 1 x booster) in accordance with current Northcott Requirements (unless granted an exemption).
