The Opportunity
Cochlear is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer to review, recommend and implement methods, layouts, and resources required in the manufacturing areas with the view of improving conditions, efficiency, and flexibility.
* Record and maintain manufacturing process data, including cycle times and OEE.
* Map processes (including Value Stream Map, SIPOC, and Spaghetti Map).
* Suggest process and system improvements through the application of Lean tools.
* Build and present business cases for improvements quantifying cost and benefit of different options.
* Work with internal stakeholders to prioritise and direct continuous improvement activities.
* Define metrics or displays that will assist manufacturing (visible schedule, first pass yield, or others).
* Amend processes, storage locations, staff structure to promote efficient utilisation.
* Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to promote maximum efficiency.
About You:

To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Minimum: 3+ years' experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment,
Demonstrated success applying Lean methodologies and principles,
Knowledge of Lean tools such as Pillar Charts and Value Stream Mapping,
Demonstrate a strong passion for continuous improvement,
Able to work autonomously and as part of a team,
A strong communicator, who is able to build positive stakeholder relationships,
Ability to work in Cochlear's Macquarie University and Lane Cove sites.
Ideal: Experience scheduling in a manufacturing environment,
Ability to convert plan to business requirements (labour and machine),
Ability to analyse and prioritise actions based on data.
