Ongoing, full-time opportunityBand 6 Salary range from $88,829 to $98,566 plus statutory superannuationExciting opportunity to manage and deliver a wide range of civic events in local governmentThe roleThe Civic Events Officer position is a key role in the Civic Support team to manage the planning, implementation, delivery and review of all civic events, including civic functions and receptions, Citizenship Ceremonies and official openings, for the Executive and Civic Services unit of the City of Ballarat.To manage the planning, implementation, delivery and review of all civic events to a high standard and support the achievement of council's policies, goals and strategies.To manage the organisation of Citizenship Ceremonies on behalf of the Department of Home Affairs in accordance with the Citizenship Code.To coordinate and deliver all official openings, launches, media opportunities and ribbon cuttings for project milestones in conjunction with the relevant State or Federal department and Ministerial offices.To provide a high level of customer service, guidance and other general information to all internal and external event and community stakeholders.About YouYou will bring enthusiasm, creativity, energy and experience in managing functions and delivering diverse and wide-ranging events.
Your outstanding interpersonal skills will enable you to effectively engage staff and stakeholders.
You will ideally have event industry experience and have the ability to represent the City of Ballarat to external agencies and organisations.
Your attention to detail is exceptional and your forward planning and organisation skills are highly refined.
Previous experience within a political environment with a detailed understanding of local, state and federal government context will be highly regarded.
