Key responsibilities
• Provide advice to the Corridor and Land Management Team for applications made to TMR under the Planning Act, Transport Infrastructure Act (TIA) and various public utility acts (Commonwealth and State) in the areas of access and works, management of development and third-party impacts and the management of road infrastructure planning and upgrades initiated by TMR, Local Government and/or utility providers.
• Make decisions on applications made to TMR by public utility authorities for their works in the road corridor (various Acts).
• Make decisions on applications made to TMR by the public for works and activities in the road corridor in accordance with s62, s33 and s50 of TIA.
• Provide high level policy, engineering and technical advice on corridor management issues and on review of designs for work proposed by utility providers, developers and local authorities.
• Maintain, apply and review all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action for the design and construction of third party road infrastructure projects and activities.
• Supervise and coordinate resources and manage workloads to meet legislative timeframes and encourage effective teamwork and collaboration and foster a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives.
• Identify and manage networks and alliances of all stakeholders and manage the expectations and issues of all parties, including identifying possible political and high risk matters to ensure they are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
• Prepare and deliver briefing notes, ministerials and other reports to senior management in a timely and efficient manner with relevant policy and legislative provisions highlighted with options analysis and recommendation of proposed Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to the position.

• Thorough knowledge and experience of public utility plant and road infrastructure construction methodology and planning principals and application of relevant acts, policies, and guidelines
• Negotiates, advises, and makes decisions regarding state transport corridor use and access.
• Provides clear and concise advice that is rigorously considered and supported by a clear rationale.
• Build and sustain networks and relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes.
• Demonstrate leadership skills to develop a high-performance team to manage workloads and provide support to team members to empower them to make decisions.
