JOB SUMMARYThe IPM Technician works in conjunction with the Cultivation Management, overseeing all Integrated Pest Management activities. Eliminates and controls undesirable insects, with infrequent supervision. The IPM Technician is versed in proper application methodology including calibration, application procedures and insect, arachnid, and vertebrate identification.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITESApplying IPM products including sprays and biological control agentsScouting all cultivation areas for signs and symptoms of pests, pathogens, and other plant health issues.Identifies insects, arthropods, vertebrates, and other pests and create treatment plans based on physiologyMeasures area dimensions requiring treatment; calculates chemical requirements to address specific pest issuesOperates, maintains, and repairs equipment as neededCoordinates scheduling of work orders with the Cultivation ManagementStays current on practices and all local, state, and federal codes and regulations related to IPM in agricultureEnsures timely submission of all required recordsImplements quality standards; conducts and documents follow-up inspectionsMust complete required training to maintain commercial applicators license for Pest categoryMaintains effective written and oral communication with Cultivation ManagementFollows standard operating procedures for assigned tasks and projects and follows all safety protocolCleaning all cultivation areas regularly to prevent the buildup of algae and debrisMaintaining cleanliness of cultivation areas and ensure sanitation procedures are being closely followed.Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environmentAdditional ad hoc projects, tasks, and responsibilities will applyMaintaining compliance with company SOPs and reporting changes or updates to management as neededPerforms other duties as assignedJOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum of 2+ years' field or greenhouse pest management experience or an undergraduate degree in a related fieldMust obtain a State Certified Applicator license in Pest category within 90 daysAbility to identify insects, arthropods, vertebrates, and other pests and create treatment plans based on physiologyPhysical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of a commercial growDisplay accountability, proactive behavior, and strong attention to detailStrong attention to detail and ability to adhere to strict policies and procedureWell organized and ability to keep deadlinesAbility to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environmentMust be 21 years or olderFull knowledge of all applicable law, regulations, and requirements to keep the facility at 100% compliance at all times, this includes being up to date on any changes to current applicable laws/regulationsMust be able to obtain and retain a Registered Agent Card issued by the state of operationMust be able to internalize training and follow instructionsMust be able to communicate clearly and effectively
