About the role Are you an experienced professional looking for an exciting opportunity to lead the management of diverse property assets in one of the world's most vibrant cities? The City of Sydney is undergoing a significant transformational change within Property Services, and we're seeking skilled and motivated property management professionals to join our team across our commercial, community, and operational portfolios. The City manages a unique and diverse range of assets, including heritage-listed commercial buildings, award-winning libraries, and operationally critical depots. Our portfolio includes over 1,500 property interests worth $2.7 billion, covering assets such as building properties, footway agreements, vacant land, and road interests. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to the realisation of our Sustainable Sydney 2030–2050 vision by driving high-performance asset management. As a Property Asset Manager, you will be assigned a building portfolio commensurate with your skills and experience and you will: Lead and manage the profit and loss, budgeting and reporting responsibilities of your assigned building portfolio. Manage the City/Tenant relationship within your assigned building portfolio. Develop and deliver management briefings on complex building issues. Manage facility management providers to ensure the maintenance of your assigned building portfolio meets all safety and compliance standards. Oversee lease agreements, renewals, and negotiations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Develop data-driven management reports to drive better decision-making and ensure the Property Management Information System is utilised as the main source of truth for lease and maintenance-related aspects. We're looking for someone with: Tertiary qualifications in Property and/or Facility Management or significant experience in managing Building assets at a management level with extensive knowledge and experience managing a diverse portfolio of properties. Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control strategies, and a proven track record in managing the financial performance of property portfolios. Ability to maintain data integrity and manage property information systems, with experience in property management software to ensure accurate and compliant records. This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month. The recommended applicant must complete a pre-employment health declaration and criminal history check.
