Your Role: As the Head Chef or Sous Chef at Abbey Beach Resort, you will play a key role in managing kitchen operations and leading a talented team of chefs to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests. You will be responsible for food preparation, quality control, team mentoring, and driving the resort's vision.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Development: Lead by example, fostering a positive and supportive team culture. Mentor and develop junior chefs to ensure excellence in food preparation and presentation. Menu Innovation: Collaborate with the General Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, and Sales team to create seasonal, innovative menus that reflect current dining trends and customer preferences. Operational Excellence: Oversee kitchen operations, including ordering, stock control, and minimizing food waste. Ensure adherence to food safety standards and maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment. Guest Experience: Strive for perfection in every dish to ensure our guests enjoy a memorable dining experience. Work with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service. Financial Management: Help manage food costs and budgets, ensuring profitability while maintaining high standards. What We're Looking For: Qualifications: TAFE or Trade School Chef Qualification (Level 4) or Similar Qualification, Current Australian Driver's Licence Experience: At least 1 year in a similar role (Head Chef or Sous Chef), with a total of 4+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment. Previous managerial experience is essential. Availability: Candidates must be eligible to work in Australia and able to start within 2-4 weeks of offer. (Sponsorship available for the right candidate) Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
