Our product range of globally recognised brands have established us with a strong presence as a key supplier of chemicals, solvents, resins and other specialty products which are critical to many industries such as personal care, cleaning products, adhesives, road repair, fibreglass / composite manufacture and paint and surface coatings. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our account management team in customer retention, while also developing new business by promoting our range of products.
Who We're Looking For
* A highly motivated, self-starting individual who is hungry to be successful and has a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the industrial chemical distribution industry, leading a high performing sales team.
* A candidate who naturally possesses the necessary soft skills and attributes to be successful in this role, including high emotional intelligence, empathic leadership, critical thinking & problem solving, a strong work ethic, flexibility and exemplary time management and communication capabilities.
* An outstanding written and verbal communicator.
* An authentic and accessible sales team leader.
* A natural negotiator who seeks win / win solutions for all stakeholders.
* Adept at providing constructive feedback to your team and encouraging and motivating by nature.
The Skills And Experience You Need
* A minimum of 5 years experience within the chemical distribution or industrial chemical manufacturing market
* A strong background in sales performance including sales margin management.
* A strong desire for a successful sales team leadership role and located in Brisbane or Melbourne.
* The ability to travel frequently, in order to offer face to face support to a national sales team, and to enhance our supply partner relationships.
* The capability to understand technical literature and data and make sound decisions and recommendations around product selection, while considering safety considerations.
* A high degree of proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications and use of a CRM.
* Formal business qualifications, especially within Business Management or a chemical related science would be highly regarded.
The role
* Leading, mentoring and inspiring our sales team via people related strategies
* Monitoring the performance of the sales team by establishing a system of reporting and communications, cyclical customer and sales meetings
* Developing the team via agreed performance objectives and Personal Development Plans
* Developing your own job skills on an ongoing basis to ensure skills are current and to an appropriate standard
* Reporting on sales territory performance and trends
* Assisting in the development of marketing plans and annual budgets
* Work closely with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution
* Supporting and reviewing the progress of sales targets and margins
* Assisting in the development of specific plans to ensure revenue growth and maximised sales margins across all products
* Building and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
* Establishing key performance indicators, monitor ongoing performance and improve team performance against targets
* Ensure the timely and successful delivery of ASCC solutions according to customer needs and objectives
* Contribute and add value to the growth of our business strategy and plans
* Through stakeholder engagement identify and facilitate opportunities that drive additional revenue.
