Locum Vocationally Registered GPs for the After Hours GP ServiceMurray Primary Health Network (MPHN) conducted an After-Hours Health Needs Assessment for the MPHN region in 2023 which identified gaps in after-hours primary care services. The Campaspe local government area was identified as an area of disadvantage with limited access and hence, KDHS has been selected to lead a short-term project to enable After-Hours Primary Health Care Programs within General Practice under the MPHN’s Commonwealth General Practice Investment Strategy funding.The KDHS After Hours Primary Care Service Sessional GP will have a pivotal role in leading an after-hours model of care that strengthens the health system in supporting Campaspe consumers to have timely access to urgent but non-life-threatening primary care services and reduce risk to the community member for potential deterioration. It is anticipated this initiative will also reduce demand on Urgent Care Centres / Emergency Departments.This position will provide clinical services and care to patients presenting to the After-hours primary health care service.
