In the role of Senior Project Engagement Adviser, you will lead internal and external stakeholder engagement and communication services for major infrastructure project/s in the Queensland Transport and Road Investment Program (QTRIP), specifically the Rockhampton Ring Road project.
You will represent and support the Project Director, Rockhampton Ring Road project to develop and implement communication initiatives that meet the current and future needs of QTRIP. You will also provide high level media, engagement, and strategic advice to the Project Leadership Team on a range of engagement activities, displaying high levels of communication, that are forward facing with a direct line to the communities we serve.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
1. Manage the development of external communication to support the Rockhampton Ring Road project program of work.
2. Provide expert communication and community engagement advice to project and executive leaderships team/s, including identifying and mitigating risks.
3. Develop, implement, and evaluate complex communication and community engagement strategies on high profile and sometimes contentious projects to tight timeframes and within budget.
4. Develop high quality and effective communication tools and key messaging that aligns with project and TMR priorities and meets accessibility, governance, and brand management requirements.
5. Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including other government agencies, local councils, and contractors to ensure TMR achieve its goals.
6. Assist, where required, the project leadership team in managing complex and contentious issues, and communication challenges.
7. Liaison with contractor and TMR project teams to support and coach team members to ensure the project communication and engagement requirements are delivered to acceptable time and quality standards, within the agreed framework.
Mandatory qualifcations and conditions:
8. A minimum of 5 years of external stakeholder engagement and communications experience.
9. Current holder of a “C” Class Driver's licence.
10. Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Desirable qualifications:
11. Tertiary qualifications in communications or a similar discipline (IE engagement related) will be highly regarded.
12. IAP2 or equivalent training in community engagement.

17. Expert knowledge of community engagement best practice and relationship management to deliver effective public consultation with stakeholders and wider community that ensures positive community and departmental outcomes while maintaining the department's reputation.
18. Expert knowledge of government, executive correspondence, and best writing practice to develop, tailor and provide advice on ministerials, briefing notes and executive letters.
19. Demonstrated knowledge of issues/reputation management and provides advice to establish and maintain mutual understanding between the department and its stakeholders.
