Our client is a large federal government department that are seeking a meticulous Calibration Officer to join their dynamic team and contribute to this crucial initiative.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform calibration, testing, and maintenance of laboratory and field equipment to ensure adherence to standards.
2. Coordinate with Project Managers, Laboratory Manager, and other team members to schedule equipment calibrations efficiently.
3. Collect and analyze statistics, investigate operational issues, and report findings to stakeholders.
4. Conduct research and evaluation to support improvements in metrological observation systems and processes.
5. Document procedures, technical reports, and work instructions accurately.
6. Develop and test computer programs to support scientific and operational activities.
7. Ensure compliance with quality management standards and safety protocols.
Requirements:
Mandatory:
8. Willingness to obtain or possess a baseline security clearance.
9. Tertiary qualification (AQF Level 6 or higher) in a relevant technical field such as Physical Science, Instrumentation, Electronics, or Engineering.
Desirable:
10. Previous experience in a Calibration or Testing Laboratory.
11. Familiarity with Metrology principles and Uncertainty in Measurement.
12. Knowledge of Temperature, Electrical measurement, or other meteorological phenomena.
13. Understanding of environmental monitoring in land, marine, or atmospheric settings.
