About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join our team at The Star Brisbane. As a key member of our pre-opening team, you will play a vital role in ensuring flawless delivery and execution of product excellence and service while maintaining food safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop thorough knowledge of the entire menu, including all base products and ingredients used.
* Prepare food for presentation, adhering to menu requirements and kitchen standards (SOP's).
* Mentor and develop Demi Chefs, Commis Chefs, Cooks, and Apprentices in the team.
* Perform complex cooking duties and produce a dish/recipe from a combination of ingredients without supervision and assist with mis en place across all sections.
Requirements
* High volume culinary experience.
* Can-do team attitude.
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations.
* Trade certificate in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
About You
You will have experience working in high-volume kitchen environments with comprehensive knowledge across all sections. You will be responsible for maintaining kitchen hygiene practices and OH&S standards, as well as keeping your section stocked and tidy.
