The Role
The Transition Year position is designed to support you in meeting all clinical and non-clinical requirements set out by the CICM.
* This role serves as a bridge between being a Phase 2 trainee and a junior specialist, offering flexibility and graded responsibility to foster increasing clinical autonomy.
* Responsibilities include directing patient management, supervising and managing the multidisciplinary clinical team, collaborating with other multi-specialty clinicians, and providing first on-call cover under the supervision of an immediately available intensivist.
* As part of the specialist clinical roster, the Transition Year Fellow will receive support and supervision from a dedicated intensivist to develop in this role.

The Location
A modern city renowned for its striking architecture and expansive green spaces. It is home to many national monuments and institutions. A well planned layout and abundance of parks and gardens make it a peaceful and scenic place to live.
The Facility
The ICU has accreditation by the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) for two years of general training including neuro-, cardio- and trauma ICU. The intensive care trainees are exposed to a broad case mix of critically ill patients.
The Requirements
* Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
* Currency in an Advanced Life Support Course
* Competency in the invasive procedures relevant to the practice of Intensive Care Medicine.
* You will be registered with the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) and have completed their CICM Part 2 examination. Completion of the project requirement for Fellowship is not required for appointment to this position.
* SIMG's with CICM assessment underway or outcome received are encouraged to apply
