About the role
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment. Suitable applicants will have the opportunity to develop skills in surgical nursing with the support of an Educator.
Ward 4B is a 30 bed ward caring for adult patients from surgical specialties. The surgical specialties include but are not limited to: General surgery, Colorectal, Gastro, Plastics, Skin lesions including melanoma, oncology based surgery including mastectomy and breast reconstruction (DIEP) and cardiothoracic.
Suitable applicants will have the opportunity to develop skills in surgical nursing with the support of an educator. Skills development available for patients requiring 1:1 acute post-operative care.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan appropriate care following assessment in consultation with the patient
2. Implement planned care as delegated
3. Document nursing care in patient records
4. Support and inform patients and their families to ensure any direct impact on patients and their families is understood to enable patients to make informed decisions
5. Maintain an effective personal and professional development plan
What you bring
6. AHPRA Registration
7. Demonstrated recent clinical experience in an acute care setting
8. Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
9. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills, customer service skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
10. Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development
11. A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
