Learn more at: | Position Summary The Glasshouse Systems Lead role will report directly to the Cultivation Manager and will plan and manage glasshouse logistics and deliver events according to the crop production schedule. The role embraces facility automation, irrigation activities, and water systems and delivers outcomes for climate control, crop health, and productivity. As a Glasshouse Systems Lead, you will: Deliver the cultivation and cropping program irrigation on over 3000m2 of flowering canopy in line with sustainability goals and budget. Collaborate on cropping climate reviews, adjustment, and data reporting under the supervision of the cultivation manager. Lead selected automation-aided production events in the facility (Cuttings/Planting/Flower Spacing) through to Harvest. Liaise with Cultivation leads, staff, and Management to coordinate table logistics that will impact facility production and overtime spending. Work closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot/schedule and repair glasshouse systems assets. Be the Logiqs automation software lead from the Operations-side (Logiqs SME). Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and service provider contacts to improve overall business performance. Inform cost changes, shipment issues, and supply concerns to the appropriate departments in a timely manner. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, material flow improvement, and business development pertaining to yield and crop performance. Accountable for operation spending; budget management, review, and refinement. Initiate and participate in actions to improve processes and performance of operations including working with other facility and functional representatives. Provide project management support for facility operations and corporate initiatives. Manage inventory levels, ensuring that changes in inventory are promptly and accurately recorded for irrigation and cultivation teams. Data management for the area of responsibility to maintain regular reporting and performance updates. About You Qualifications / Licences Tertiary or Diploma qualifications in Science, Agricultural Science, Production Horticulture, Engineering or related field. Pre-employment Security and Health Screening. Applicants with trade qualifications or experience in a similar role in glasshouse horticulture or controlled environment agriculture will also be accepted. Experience Experience operating comparable software system (Priva or Hoogendoorn) in a glasshouse environment, semi-closed glasshouse / controlled environment agriculture (CEA) facility. Irrigation systems programming (hardware and software) and a firm theoretical understanding of plant nutrition and hydroponic growing. Large scale glasshouse or production machinery and automation experience will be considered an asset. Proven experience in leading a team of two direct reports responsible for large work groups.
