As the Senior Manager, Diversified Credit SA/WA you'll be at the heart of Westpac's Business and Wealth Division, driving excellence in credit quality and control. You'll lead a dynamic team of four credit risk professionals, ensuring robust credit decisioning and portfolio management across diversified portfolios. Your role is pivotal in managing credit risk appetite, monitoring controls, and aligning credit strategies with business objectives. However, this role comes with its challenges. You'll need to navigate complex regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with prudential standards like APS220, 221, 112, and 113. Balancing risk management with business growth objectives can be demanding, requiring keen analytical skills and strategic thinking. Additionally, fostering collaboration and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships will be crucial, as you'll influence leaders to enhance risk monitoring and implement top-notch control practices. To be successful in this role, you'll need 5-10 years of experience in credit decisioning, with a focus on cashflow lending or similar risk roles. A graduate or post-graduate degree (MBA or equivalent) in commerce or a business-related discipline is essential. You'll also bring over three years of leadership experience in a corporate environment within financial services or a similar field. Your background in risk management across the banking industry will be invaluable. You'll need to think and act strategically, possess strong negotiation skills, and have experience in commercial or corporate banking. Additionally, your strong leadership and people management abilities will inspire and drive your team to achieve outstanding results. Your knack for influencing others, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, will help you navigate challenges effectively.
