About the role
Due to an internal promotion, a new Senior Development Manager role is now required to join the development team in Melbourne.
The role of the Senior Development Manager at ID_Land is pivotal in steering the company’s expansion and overseeing key development projects. This position entails managing multiple projects across different stages, from early-stage development to delivery, with a particular focus on residential developments. The Senior Development Manager will play a crucial role in strategic decision-making, project delivery, and stakeholder management, ensuring that each development aligns with ID_Land’s vision of quality and innovation. This role offers an opportunity to influence the growth trajectory of the company and make a significant impact in the real estate development sector.
This role will also be leading the existing team of Development Managers, Assistant Development Managers and a Development Officer ensuring they are achieving their goals with a focus on their professional development.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee project commencement, ensuring compliance with sales contracts, master plan formulation, and managing relationships for timely planning and authority approvals.
* Establish and lead a high-quality project team and ensure productive relationships with key stakeholders, consultants, and legal teams.
* Provide strategic guidance for lot mix, urban design, and landscaping, oversee Development Manager responsibilities, and coordinate with Shape Homes and Next Living for project opportunities.
* Actively contribute to sales strategies, develop pricing and marketing strategies, and manage the sales release program to meet targets.
* Collaborate with the Financial Controller on funding, manage project valuations and feasibility updates, and oversee communication with debt and equity providers.
* Handle legal matters, review contracts and legal documents, ensure compliance with legislation and take advice from internal legal counsel.
* Embody and promote ID_Corp Values, mentor and develop team members, ensure compliance with company policies, and maintain regular team meetings for effective communication and cooperation.
* Prepare and present monthly project reports to stakeholders, and contribute to investor reports, ensuring transparent and effective communication regarding project progress and outcomes.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with a proven track record in real estate development and project delivery. They should possess a blend of strategic thinking and practical execution, with a deep understanding of the commercial drivers of project delivery.
Experience in managing large-scale residential projects, especially master-planned communities, is highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate strong leadership skills, with an ability to build rapport with authorities and internal teams. An aptitude for asking the right questions, understanding financial feasibility, and effective delegation is crucial. Additionally, experience in Precinct Structure Plans (PSPs) and influencing stakeholder outcomes will be a significant advantage.
The ideal candidate will be not only skilled in managing projects but also enthusiastic about leading people and driving strategic project objectives.
