Job Description
The role of a Clinical Nurse Educator is pivotal in shaping the next generation of medical professionals. As a key member of our team, you will deliver high-level teaching in procedural skills, resuscitation, and simulation education for postgraduate medical students.
Our ideal candidate possesses extensive clinical experience, a passion for teaching, and excellent communication skills. They are able to effectively instruct medical students in a range of clinical procedures and skills.
Responsibilities
* Instruct and Assess Medical Students: Deliver hands-on training in procedural skills, clinical techniques, and equipment use as outlined in the curriculum.
* Coordinate Clinical Skills Program: Organise and implement the procedural skills, resuscitation, and simulation education program for postgraduate medical students.
* Prepare Teaching Materials: Set up equipment and materials for procedural skills and simulation sessions, ensuring a high-quality learning environment.
* Collaborate with Medical Educators: Liaise with clinical teachers, tutors, and staff to plan sessions and maintain educational standards.
Requirements
* Registration: Be a Registered Nurse with Division 1 eligibility or current registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria.
* Clinical Experience: Have extensive experience in conducting clinical procedures such as CPR, venepuncture, and IV insertion.
* Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Teaching Experience: Have experience in small group clinical teaching and an understanding of medical students' diverse needs.
