Our client is a global funds management business with a growing footprint in the Australian marketplace. With offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, the Melbourne-based Business Development Associate will play a crucial role in the growth of the firm’s client base in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.
This role is responsible for supporting the Southern Regional team in servicing a set of intermediary clients within a geographic region. The individual will be expected to develop a disciplined and measurable plan as to how to support the senior sales representatives and service their allocated clients to achieve specific objectives and KPIs relating to flow, revenue and activity. Where required this role will also support the Institutional sales, Key Accounts and Eastern Regional teams and if required other areas of the business in the execution of the firm’s distribution strategy.
Key Tasks:
* Support the execution of the broader distribution strategy.
* Responsible for providing support to the sales representatives within the Southern Regional team in servicing an allocated set of clients and prospects by fielding, responding, and accommodating day to day requests.
* Build and develop relationships with existing clients primarily through calls, networking, and events.
* Prospect for new clients through cold calling, networking, and other means to continually increase business and develop opportunities.
* Organise and attend client events and entertainment with both existing clients and new prospects.
* Develop good understanding of client’s business, objectives, goals, and market challenges within specific region and ensure information flow and support from the team is consistent.
* This will be a target driven role where the candidate will be rewarded for meeting and exceeding expectations.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* 2+ years of industry work experience preferred
* Strong quantitative, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills – fluent English
* Experience using specialised financial software, such as Bloomberg or Morningstar Direct is preferred
* Experience developing Excel models and using other Office applications
