At Menzies we have expanded our strength in cardiovascular disease research coordinated through the newly established Cardiovascular Research Flagship. The Flagship is a result of broad stakeholder engagement including community consultation in 2022. Following our launch in late 2023, our goal is to work collaboratively with health professionals, policy makers and the community to develop, implement and evaluate interventions to improve the cardiovascular health of Tasmanians and beyond.The Communication & Engagement Officer for the Cardiovascular Research Flagship will be highly motivated and pro-active working with researchers, policy makers, collaborators and people with lived experience of cardiovascular disease to enhance the research translation and communications efforts of the Flagship. The Communications & Engagement Officer will provide high-level advice, guidance and support across a broad range of communications, marketing and event management functions.What you'll do:Assist in the creation and implementation of effective communications and engagement plans to support the goals of the Cardiovascular Research Flagship and enhance research translation activities.Write, edit and distribute content such as press releases, newsletters, social media posts, website updates, and event invitations.Plan, coordinate and promote events such as webinars, seminars, forums, workshops, and other community-based activities.Oversee the social media presence for the Cardiovascular Research Flagship, including content planning, posting and engagement.Work with the College of Health and Medicine's Communications Team to ensure consistency in messaging and use of University and Menzies brand across all communications channels.Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication and engagement strategies and individual campaigns and events, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.What we're looking for:Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience in a related area or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education or training.Demonstrated experience in a communications and/or marketing position and/or event coordination, ideally within health or science communication in a research environment.Highly effective writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, interesting and relevant content for a variety of audiences.Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills across a variety of mediums.Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a broad and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated capacity to act independently within established guidelines, using discretion and sound judgement, as well as actively participate and contribute to a large team.Graphic and webpage design or administration skills highly desirable, with practical application of a variety of media support packages.Salary detailsAppointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $113,029 comprising base salary within the range of $89,091 to $96,606 pro rata plus 17% superannuation.How to ApplyTo apply online, please provide your CV and 1-2-page cover letter outlining your interest in the role, skills, capabilities and experience.For further information about this position, please contact Christine Farmer, Program Manager - Cardiovascular Research Flagship, or .Please refer to the attached Position Description Below for full details.To be eligible for this position, you are required to have Australian citizenship, permanent residence or a current valid visa that allows you to fulfil the requirements of this role.Advertised: 13 Nov 2024 Tasmania Daylight TimeApplications close: 26 Nov 2024 Tasmania Daylight Time#J-18808-Ljbffr
