We are currently offering a great career opportunity for a driven Agronomist to join our team in our Humpty Doo, Darwin or Katherine locations.
About the opportunity:
We are taking applications for this role in Humptydoo, Darwin and Katherine locations. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will work closely with our key clients to provide superior agronomic advice and inputs with your focus on Horticultural agronomy and summer crop production. In addition, you will:
4. Share information with producers related to environmental and seasonal conditions affecting production
5. Perform soil testing and study other factors affecting production to provide sound fertiliser, nutrient, and soil recommendations to improve quality and yield.
6. Work closely with clients to design improvement programs to increase yield and productivity.
7. Conduct field demonstrations and trial work for product development in conjunction with key suppliers.
8. Work with branch staff to drive promotions, merchandising and sales performance.
About you:
To be successful you will have established yourself as a trusted advisor in an agronomy role and demonstrate an understanding of the products, seasonal timings and general requirements of rural producers.
9. You will have strong technical knowledge in agronomic practices and application ideally with a solid understanding of horticultural crop production and cotton agronomy.
10. You will have proven experience building enduring and successful partnerships with customers, delivering appropriate agronomic advice and services.
11. You will have a history of success in executing sales outcomes using your specialist knowledge of fertiliser, seed and chemical products
12. You will demonstrate excellent negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
13. Your sound customer service, organisational, administrative and computing skills will be complemented by excellent written and verbal communication skills.
14. A tertiary qualification in agricultural science/plant and soil science or similar is essential.
15. A clean and current Driver’s license is essential.
