Irrico is now looking for a Mechanical Engineer to their team.
The right candidate will be responsible for: Studying functional statements, organisational charts, and project information to determine roles and responsibilities within irrigation system projects and identify inefficiencies or duplication.
Establishing work measurement programs and analysing operational data to develop standards for labour and resource utilisation in irrigation system design and maintenance.
Analysing workforce utilisation, facility layout, operational data, production schedules, and project costs to optimise worker efficiency and equipment performance.
Designing mechanical equipment, irrigation machinery, components, and systems for the construction and maintenance of agricultural irrigation solutions.
Developing specifications for manufacturing irrigation components, determining materials, equipment, piping, fluid dynamics, system capacities, and plant layouts.
Organising and managing project labour, as well as coordinating the delivery of materials, equipment, and plant components for irrigation installations.
Establishing standards and policies for the installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection, and maintenance of irrigation systems, ensuring compliance with engineering principles and safety regulations.
Inspecting irrigation plants and systems to ensure optimal performance, water efficiency, and system longevity.
Directing the maintenance of irrigation plant infrastructure and equipment, coordinating new designs, system upgrades, and ongoing maintenance schedules.
About you: At least 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer; Proficiency in designing and developing mechanical components, pumps, piping systems, and irrigation machinery; Understanding of water flow dynamics, pressure calculations, and efficiency optimization in irrigation systems; Skills in diagnosing mechanical faults, performing system inspections, and implementing repairs; Ability to analyse operational data, labour efficiency, and plant performance to enhance productivity; Ability to manage teams, oversee project execution, and ensure smooth workflow across different work units; Precision in design, testing, and quality control to ensure reliability and longevity of irrigation systems; Job type: Permanent/full-time Salary: $110,000 - $125,000
