About The RoleThe Credit Analyst and Lending Assessor role at SELFCO, a division of Auswide Bank, is a key position responsible for making credit decisions within your delegated lending authority. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play an integral role in ensuring that lending decisions are in line with the bank's policies and risk management frameworks.
In this role, you will engage frequently with the sales team and third-party introducers to assess loan scenarios, providing clarity on lending decisions. Your ability to communicate complex credit decisions effectively and efficiently will be crucial. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate strong attention to detail and a deep understanding of credit analysis to support business growth and manage lending risks.

Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough analysis, assessment, and decisioning of new applications for business equipment and vehicle finance, ensuring compliance with SELFCO credit policy.Communicate lending decisions to Introducers and Business Development Managers (BDMs), providing explanations based on SELFCO's credit appetite and client risk profile.Offer guidance to Introducers and BDMs regarding SELFCO's appetite for equipment finance scenarios through phone calls and emails.Maintain the new business register, ensuring accurate capture of applications, approvals, and settlements to track progress.Assist team members by addressing transaction-specific queries or changes that may impact the associated credit risk.Provide support across all aspects of loan processing, including deal loading, transaction contracting, and ensuring pre-settlement compliance.Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Credit Quality Assurance (QA) targets, and audits are consistently met.Foster a collaborative, respectful work environment, actively contributing to team goals and maintaining strong internal relationships.What you'll bring to the tableTo succeed in this role, you'll bring a blend of experience, skills, and qualifications that will enable you to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Experience : Minimum of 5 years' experience in a lending role within the financial services sector, with a strong understanding of credit analysis and lending practices.Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams, working cohesively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset, able to assess complex financial scenarios and make well-informed decisions.As well as having great decision-making skills, you'll possess a keen ability to balance risk and reward while maintaining a client-focused approach.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clarity in decision communication with stakeholders such as Introducers, BDMs, and team members.Resilience and the ability to work autonomously, meet deadlines, and thrive under pressure while managing multiple tasks efficiently.Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in finance is preferred, demonstrating a solid foundation in financial principles and practices.Who we areSELFCO Leasing is an established Australian equipment finance company operating nationally via a network of accredited finance brokers.
