We are looking for a Game Designer who is passionate about designing and delivering high impact casino games to our global customers. You will be part of a studio with talented team of Game Designers, Artists, Game Developers and Test Engineers. The Studio puts a strong emphasis on quality, individual ownership and values engineers who take pride in developing games. The role involves Game design of Class 3 casino games for different markets. The role provides challenge of complexity (visual design, game mathematics modelling, compliance requirements, etc.) and variety (different cabinets, markets and languages). Each game is different and you will be challenged each time. You will work closely with Executive Producers and Senior Game Designers located in Sydney as well as developers in India.
What You'll Do
* Collaborate with other Game Designers on new ideas and game concepts tailored to various global markets.
* Assess and refine mathematical models for various gameplay elements, ensuring accuracy in payouts, bonuses, and game mechanics by simulating user interactions and outcomes.
* Responsible for all math model calculations for assigned games, including return to player percentages, hit frequencies, standard deviations, and other metrics as appropriate.
* Utilise data analytics and statistical methods to identify gameplay patterns and player behavior, leveraging insights to optimize game performance and player engagement.
* Design algorithms and perform computations to simulate game mechanics, ensuring they align with user expectations and market regulations.
* Develop code that implements the functionality of game concepts in order to verify and/or develop mathematical calculations and obtain important data and statistics to validate that the underlying mathematics meet all game design requirements.
* Ensure the integrity of data collected during gameplay trials, refining models to improve game mechanics, user experience, and market performance.
* Produce technical documentation to aid in the development and testing of new games.
* Produce regulatory documentation required by all applicable markets.
* Develop tools to aid in the construction of mathematical calculations, documentation and specifications.
* Collaborate with artists, software, and test engineers throughout the development cycle to deliver games to market.
* Peer review of fellow Game Designers’ calculations, code and documentation
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 2 years’ experience as a game designer / Game Mathematician working primarily on slot games.
* Bachelor's degree (or higher) with a strong mathematical component and evidence of programming experience (C++ preferred);
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
* Experience developing game concepts, prototype game math and simulating game software.
Skills and Ability:
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
* Ability to work well in a team environment.
* Strong attention to detail.
The base salary for this role is between $90,000 - $95,000.
