This full-time, permanent role is ideal for someone looking to step up into a leadership position, drive operational excellence, and play a key role in process improvements and efficiencies across the function.
About the Role: As the 2IC – Settlements & Operations, you will work closely with the Settlements Manager to ensure the seamless execution of Domestic and International Equity and Exchange Traded Options settlements.
Beyond daily processing, you will take on a leadership role, identifying areas for improvement, streamlining workflows, and enhancing risk controls.
You'll be working alongside a highly successful team of seven, with the opportunity to mentor junior team members, influence change, and make a lasting impact within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities: Overseeing and executing daily settlements, including batch files, RTGS payments, and International Payments (SWIFT) Driving process improvements and operational efficiencies within the Settlements function Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal risk frameworks Monitoring and maintaining Trust Balances and conducting reconciliations Liaising with internal and external stakeholders for all settlement-related queries Providing leadership support to the Settlements Manager and acting as their second-in-command (2IC) Mentoring and assisting junior team members, fostering a high-performing team environment Managing settlement reports and ensuring accurate, timely execution of all transactions About You: To be successful in this role, you will need: 2+ years of experience in Cash Settlements or Payments, ideally within financial markets Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience Intermediate to advanced skills in Word and Excel Tertiary qualification in Finance (advantageous) A proactive, team-oriented mindset with leadership potential Role Details: Location: North Sydney (Hybrid working - 3 days in the office, 2 days from home) Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 + Super (depending on experience) Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Eligibility: Must have full-time permanent working rights We are interviewing immediately, so if you're interested, apply now by submitting your CV via the APPLY link!
