Restaurant or Café Manager
We are seeking passionate and driven individuals to take on the role of Restaurant or Café Manager.
Job Summary
* Ensure Team Members greet guests and escort them to tables
* Schedule dining reservations
* Train and monitor Food and Beverage Attendants and ensure service standards are met
* Ensure accurate recording and verification of Team Member time records
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all Team Members in all aspects of the daily operation of the outlet, providing necessary assistance where required
* Ensure approved service sequences and standards are established and maintained at all times
* Carry out opening and closing procedures to an acceptable standard and supervise outlet
* Maintain efficient operating procedures for the outlet's point of sale cashiering computer system, ensuring accuracy and balancing of till and department cash float
* Maintain high level of cleanliness and care of all equipment and materials; ensure security of outlet
* Promptly report any maintenance work required to Manager and/or maintenance department
* Maintain all outlet stock levels
* Conduct daily briefings
* Complete the Restaurant daily log book
* Develop training plans and conduct on-and-off-the-job training sessions for all outlet Team Members
* Attend scheduled food and beverage and other relevant meetings when required
* Monitor outlets manpower, payroll budget, control costs, and maximise profitability
* Take extreme care with personal grooming to maintain a consistently high level of professional appearance and monitor service personnel's appearance and grooming
* Punctual, efficient, and courteous at all times with guests and fellow Team Members alike
* Aware of own work schedule and always provide adequate notice when circumstances prevent adherence to that schedule
* Handle guest complaints immediately, courteously, and satisfactorily
* Ensure all guests are greeted and escorted to their allocated tables when possible
* Assist with conducting performance appraisals of subordinates as instructed
* Other duties as may be prescribed from time to time due to operational needs
Requirements
* Strong communicator with well-developed stakeholder management
* Ability to balance multiple priorities and act with a sense of urgency, while remaining calm under pressure
* Possession of a valid RSA
* 5-star hotel background as a Supervisor/Manager in a food service field
* Exceptionally organised, with ability to prioritise in order to meet allocated timelines and budgets
* Ability to remain calm when under pressure
* Ability to work a flexible roster including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
