This is your opportunity to become part of a unique program that will provide you with the networks and skills to engage with primary producers and support their adoption of improved land management practices throughout the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) catchments. You will participate as part of a unique cohort with cross-industry trainees, and be mentored by experienced extension practitioners.
Program: Agricultural Extension Work Placement Program (AEWPP)
Salary: $70,000 pa + superannuation + a training and support program with a value of more than $30,000.
The Queensland Government has engaged the Queensland Farmers’ Federation (QFF) to facilitate the Agricultural Extension Work Placement Program, an internship-style program for up to eight early-career extension officers.
The program will enhance trainees’ skills to deliver agricultural and natural resource management projects with landholders in the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) Catchments, developing expertise in one or more of the following: land management, water quality, soil health, nutrient and pest management.

Trainees will also have the opportunity to build professional and local networks with their fellow trainees, industry advisors, and previous participants as well as in their local communities.
