About the role Our team is growing! We are looking for passionate team members to support the day-to-day operations of our kitchens and deliver service at events. This role will primarily work out of our Elsternwick kitchen, however may also be required to service our Northside venues from time to time. The role involves working on a rotating roster that includes weekdays, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Sponsorship is available, however, the candidate must already be in Australia to apply. Some responsibilities include:
Menu planning Estimating food and labor costs Liaising with suppliers Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation Freezing and preserving foods Ensuring hygiene and food safety in accordance with guidelines Skills, experience & requirements/qualifications Minimum Cert IV in Commercial Cookery or 4+ years of relevant experience as a CDP or Junior Sous Chef Ability to lead teams as the Chef in Charge onsite at events Passionate about catering and producing quality food Sound cookery techniques and willingness to learn new ones Works well under pressure with attention to detail Positive, punctual, and professional approach Happy to work hard & get hands dirty when needed Excellent communication skills and team player Full vaccination against COVID-19 or genuine medical exemption Competency in ordering and managing stock Valid Victorian Drivers license and comfortable driving a van or small truck Manual handling required to unload food from trucks/vans Availability to work a rotating roster including weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (essential) Food Safety trained (desired) Certificate or Diploma in event/hotel management (desired) Why work with us At Refresh Hospitality, we work hard and laugh often.
