What you’ll do:
As a Marine Technician you will be a valued member of a team, working not only in a workshop, but also out in the field on domestic exercises, deployments, and humanitarian operations. Marine Technicians serve in the Corps of the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RAEME).
You will be able to inspect, repair, modify and recondition a wide range of Army Marine Equipment. The trade also undertakes mechanical and engineering training.
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to grow your technical knowledge through a range of specialist courses covering equipment and systems such as Army Special Operations watercraft and “LARC V” amphibious vehicles.
As a Marine Technician you’ll be involved with:
1. diagnosing, maintenance, and repair of the Army's fleet of marine equipment
2. work with specialized teams on advanced Vessel HVAC, electronic and hydraulic systems
3. work as part of a crew on a vessel
4. perform safety and technical inspections on marine safety equipment and large vessels
5. general soldiering duties, such as manning defensive positions, patrolling, traffic control, camouflaging of vehicles and field equipment, and navigation
