Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Government Account Manager to join our dynamic team in Australia. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in managing government projects, securing government contracts, and fostering strong relationships with government officials. This role is pivotal in driving our company's growth by expanding our footprint within the public sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting government agencies and departments.
2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through government tenders and bids.
3. Maintain a thorough understanding of government procurement processes and requirements.
4. Build and manage a portfolio of key government accounts, providing exceptional customer service and support.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects and services.
6. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and government meetings.
7. Develop and maintain a network of government contacts to stay informed of upcoming opportunities and changes in policy.
8. Prepare and present proposals, bids, and tender submissions in accordance with government guidelines.
9. Monitor and analyze sales performance, adjusting strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.
10. Provide regular updates to senior management on sales activities, progress, and results.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or business development, with a focus on government contracts and projects. Experience in building relationships with Stanwell/CleanCo or Energy Queensland is a plus.
3. Proven success in winning and managing government bids and tenders.
4. Excellent understanding of government regulations and procurement processes.
5. Strong network of contacts within government agencies and departments.
6. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of government.
7. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Strong organizational and time management skills.
10. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
