Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily terminal activities and manage staff roster.
Ensure efficient rail & road transport operations.
Implement safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised workspace.
Manage the performance and development of the terminals team maintaining coverage and ensuring timely and accurate work output.
Train and mentor terminal staff on best practices and company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with other departments to optimise workflow and address any operational issues.
Deal directly with customers in providing exceptional customer service.
Desired Skills and Experience
Essential
Drivers License
Transport industry working knowledge
Demonstrated experience in a similar role
5 or more years’ experience in leadership or management
Excellent communication skills and analytical skills
Ability to work autonomously and as a leader of a team
Strong problem-solving skills
Managing workload, meeting deadlines and being organised at all times
Resource allocation and management
Conflict resolution
Planning and Organising – plans and schedules effectively and maintains effective controls and attention to detail to ensure timely delivery of outcomes
Teamwork and Diversity – works toward common goals in an open and collaborative and inclusive manner
Understanding of WHS legislations as they pertain to this role.
Desirable
Previous experience & knowledge of road & rail transport industries
Experience using SAP & technologically savvy
Certificate IV – Business Management / Leadership
Heavy Vehicle licence
Reach stacker licence
