Currently seeking: We are currently looking for a meter reader for an immediate start in the Mareeba area.
The role will initially be for a duration of 2 months (until Christmas) and would be the ideal way for someone to earn some extra cash before the holiday season.
If you enjoy working outside the role will involve working in a team of 2 (or sometimes by yourself) in an allocated neighborhood taking and recording water utility meter readings.
Whilst no previous experience is necessary, as full training will be provided, you must: Enjoy working outside and be physically fit and healthy to walk long distances throughout the day Have good communication skills (you may be talking to the general public) Be happy to work in hot and wet conditions (summer season in the tropics) Have the ability to work independently and be aware of your environmental hazards (eg dogs, snakes, weather) Possess good computer skills and the ability to accurately record data - you will be using a SMART reader and tablets Possess a White card Hold a valid open class drivers license Have the ability to Pass a Drug & Alcohol test The role will be a 9 day Fortnight (7am - 4pm) and suitable PPE will be provided if you do not already have your own.
