These changes will slash travel times and improve public transport in Melbourne’s east Symal is part of the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Laing O’Rourke, Arcadis and WSP. Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, major road and bridge upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road, smart traffic management technology upgrades and new noise protection to meet Victoria’s toughest traffic noise standards. The local community will also benefit from new and upgraded walking and cycling connections, upgrades to Koonung Creek Reserve and revitalised wetlands and open spaces. The role: As our Alliance continues to grow, we are looking for an Area Survey Manager to join the Delivery team in a permanent role. Reporting to the Package Director operationally and the Alliance Survey Lead functionally, you will be site-based and will act as the main interface between Project team and the subcontractor survey company and the survey Data Managers. Your every day: Manage the subcontractor Surveyor’s workflow daily Manage the Survey Request Regime Allocate the Survey tasks to the subcontractors Maintain the Annual Construction Survey Budget for your area Liaise with the Survey data managers regarding the design information. Planning and resourcing survey contractors for construction survey activities. Assist the EBTA Survey Lead in the enhancement of Digital Engineering/GIS/Data Management procedures and workflows ensuring data is in accordance with the Survey Management Plan. Ensure robust verification on all design models prior to being issued as controlled data to field surveyors. Assist the EBTA Survey Lead as a technical representative in surveying related procedures and developments. Process and manage all survey as-built data Process and manage all Utility surveys including NDDs and service re-locations asbuilts Work in the field conducting "fill-in" survey tasks such as minor Feature and Level Surveys, Laser Scanning As-Built Surveys rather than tasking subcontractors for less than the 2-hour call out time. Who are you? Bachelor’s degree in Surveying or related eg. Spatial Science, Geospatial Science or Geographical Information Systems Extensive Survey Engineering experience at a Senior / Project Survey Manager level. Experience on civil construction projects including rail, roads, services & structures.
