In this role, you will be responsible for delivering your work on time, in full, and to standard. You will also be accountable for your safety and the safety of others, maintaining a clean, tidy, and productive work environment, and actively contributing to continuous improvement in all aspects of your work. As part of a scaffolding team, your primary responsibilities include erecting, repairing, inspecting, and dismantling scaffolding in compliance with relevant standards to ensure it is fit for its intended purpose. What’s Involved: Facility maintenance activities and yard work Painting activities, including line marking and walkways Removal and emptying of construction waste bins from vessels General facility/yard cleaning and garden maintenance Forklift operation Assisting trades when required Erecting scaffolding of various types Determining job requirements and planning/configuring scaffolding Fixing guard rails Dismantling scaffolding after job completion Loading and unloading materials/equipment Maintaining good housekeeping by removing potential obstructions and returning unused equipment to designated storage areas Conducting regular scaffolding inspections Carrying out periodic inspections of lifting equipment You’ll Need: Experience working in a similar labouring role Construction White Card Knowledge of the safe use of hand and power tools Valid Certificate in Scaffolding (Intermediate or Advanced) Overhead Crane Operator certification Minimum 1 year’s experience as a skilled Scaffolder, preferably in shipbuilding Licensed forklift operator Why Austal?
