Apply now and drive the future of solar energy solutions with us!Position Title: Applications/Presales Engineer (ESS)Location: Melbourne, AustraliaReports to: Technical Manager (ESS)Role OverviewWe’re seeking an experienced Applications/Presales Engineer to join our ESS Engineering team.This role serves as a link between the Sales and ESS Technical teams (Product Engineering and Technical Support) to ensure sales readiness of ESS product offerings. This will involve working closely with Product Engineering to formalise standard product offerings and supported configurations, in addition to coordinating with Sales to ensure sales strategies align with current Technical Support capacity.Primary ResponsibilitiesSupported installation configurations list: Author and maintain technical documentation for current supported system configurations (SLDs, Design Guides, Application Notes etc.)Design reviews/pre-sales support: Conduct Design Reviews and provide pre-sales technical support for non-standard installation enquiries received by Sales teamProduct profitability analysis: Analyse profitability of individual product configurations according to sales figures and technical support cost, using this data to determine profitable sales strategiesSales team alignment: Coordinate with Sales team to align sales activities and strategies with current supported installation offerings and technical support capacityFuture product offerings: Develop new ESS system applications (residential installation configurations, VPP etc.)Customer satisfaction: Coordinate with Sales team to ascertain market needs and customer satisfaction regarding existing product lines and provide recommendations to Engineering teamMarket research: Conduct independent market research on ESS storage solutions to support Product Engineering with establishing new product linesFleet health: Evaluate fleet health of supported installation configurations at regular intervals to determine gaps in technical support processes, and work with Product Engineering to close gapsKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)Sales readiness percentage: Percentage of sales-ready product offerings relative to Sales requests, ensuring alignment with current Technical Support capacityProduct profitability: Maximisation of Sales revenue to Technical Support cost ratioData analysis accuracy: Accuracy rate of evaluating profitability of product configurations according to sales figures and Technical Support costDesign Review completion rate: Number of Design Review queries from Sales team completed according to Service Level Agreement (SLA) turnaround timesRequirementsQualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field)Experience: 3-5 years in a similar role such as Product Support, Technical Services, or Sales Engineering, preferably with experience working closely with engineering and sales teams.Solar inverter product knowledge: Strong understanding of residential solar inverters (grid-tied and hybrid topologies), solar configurations and related technical support requirementsResidential battery product knowledge: Strong understanding of residential battery products and installation configurations, as well as related technical support requirementsWhat We Offer:A market competitive remuneration package and profit-sharing system.Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.A collaborative and innovative work environment.The chance to be part of a company dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment and society.The role is full-time.
