What you’ll be doing
The Cancer Institute NSW is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join the Reporting and Analytics team within the Business Intelligence and Information Systems group to provide information and critical analyses that will aid in the provision and improvement of cancer screening services in NSW and support the achievement of Cancer Plan objectives.
The role of Data Analyst functions within our Reporting and Analytics team and is required to work collaboratively with stakeholders in the Screening & Prevention Division. You will ensure that requests for data information needs are delivered in a timely manner, as well as performing data analysis and development of reports and dashboards that aid in the provision and improvement of cancer screening services in NSW and support the achievement of our Cancer Plan objectives.
Essential to the role will be your ability to engage with and influence stakeholders to contribute to high quality cancer control programs for the people of NSW. You will be a team player that thrives in a collaborative, dynamic and evolving landscape to support the delivery of strategic information through to actionable insights.

Essential requirements
6. Tertiary qualifications in IT or a related discipline, actuarial studies or engineering, or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
7. Proven experience in undertaking statistical data analysis and development of dashboards/reports on large datasets for the purpose of performance monitoring and improvement using data analysis tools, Business Intelligence tools (Power BI), advanced scripting in SQL and R programming.
8. Demonstrated experience in the planning and provision of training to support users in the use of reporting applications.
9. Demonstrated experience in analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage and meet multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
10. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
