well as scientific and specialist capabilities to Queensland communities.The QFD provides a multi-hazard emergency response, including road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous material, technical and vertical rescue, severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue, and provides a number of functions supporting community safety outcomes.The department encompasses Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR), Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ), as well as the broader department which work together to pre-empt, prevent, mitigate and manage the consequences of fires and other emergencies on Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations' through the Path to Treaty, Closing the Gap and building our cultural capability.Purpose of role State Operations IT Solutions is responsible for providing contemporary and innovative technology solutions and services to meet the operational needs of the state operations, including technology support for the critical elements of dispatch and critical event coordination.The State Operations Systems team design, plan, develop, manage, configure and integrate applications relating to incident and disaster management systems to support fire control centres.Reporting to the Solution Delivery Manager, you will be a key member contributing the functions of the team and be responsible for the development and implementation of processes, tools and resources, and configuration and release management to best suit the business applications.You will also assist in the delivery of systems training to support operational capability and service delivery outcomes.Key requirements Highly desirable requirements Knowledge and/or experience in incident and event management system configuration and implementation.Knowledge and/or experience in Queensland Disaster Management Arrangements and/or Australasian Inter-service Incident Management System (AIIMS).Knowledge and/or experience in Software Development Life Cycle.Special requirements The incumbent will be required to participate in out of hours 'On-Call' roster arrangement as well as support operational duties during emergencies and disasters which may also require work outside of normal hours (e.g.night shift), including weekends, working extended hours and possible intra-state deployment.Your key accountabilities Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in providing frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to: Provide business support for information systems change, testing and enhancements to various information systems to ensure they meet business requirements and operational capability.Provide advice and develop strategies which support continuous improvement and innovation in the systems used within fire control centres to enhance service delivery, and mitigate risk and impacts on operations.Contribute to the development of technical documentation, system specifications and user manuals to ensure business processes and procedures maintain currency, and system solutions meet business needs.Assist in the development, coordination and facilitation of system and software applications training and exercise activities to build operational capability and readiness.Prepare and contribute to the provision of timely and well researched system requirement documents, briefs, reports, plans and correspondence in accordance with departmental requirements and governance.Negotiate, build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in relations to system requirements and enhancement or resolve issues to support the delivery of quality services.Undertake project management and coordination activities to
