About the Role We are looking to establish a pool of Building Fire Safety Officers to assist in applying relevant fire safety codes and regulations through the assessment and inspection of new, proposed, and existing buildings (Class 2 – 9) to ensure compliance with structural fire safety standards. In this role, you can contribute to developing new buildings by inspecting, testing, and reviewing essential fire safety equipment. Your work will ensure compliance with structural fire safety legislation, standards, and operational requirements. Additionally, you will advise and assist stakeholders, further enhancing the safety of new and existing buildings. To be successful in this role, you will need experience in implementing the Building Code of Australia, building legislation, and other fire safety codes, standards, and statutes. You should also have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate with various stakeholders. All new employees will commence at the introductory level as per the WA Fire Services EBA 2023, unless mapping of competencies and experience demonstrates a higher commencement classification.
