Join us as we contribute to this significant transition in the energy sector.About the roleAEMO's Electricity Reform Delivery Division supports and delivers mandated reforms and improvements to critical systems and markets efficiently, cooperatively and cost-effectively.You will lead and participate in the development and execution of market reform projects through the management of business requirements, scope, costs and resources. The Senior Reform Analyst will also be required to analyse complex problems and changes to regulatory instruments to identify technical issues and areas of impacts to business systems and processes for AEMO and market participants in the electricity retail and gas retail markets.This role can be based in multiple locations.What you will be doingLead or work collaboratively with other AEMO teams and industry reference groups in the analysis of complex issues and development of recommendations to improve the retail electricity market rules, procedures, business processes and systems.Undertake detailed analysis and consult with east coast and west coast jurisdictional market participants, regulators, policy makers and internally within AEMO on changes and improvements to electricity retail market rules, procedures and processes.Cultivate productive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to provide timely and balanced advice relating to market and procedural changes stemming from government requests, AEMC rule changes, industry-initiated changes, and those identified through internal processes.Develop external market procedure change proposals and consultation material for electricity retail markets, and proactively work with stakeholders to facilitate procedure changes.Proactively identify market barriers and risks, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to support the efficient and effective operations of the retail gas and electricity markets.Research, innovate and enhance AEMO business processes to enable more efficient and effective outcomes for industry. Liaise with AEMO operational teams on the analysis of issues, identification of business and system requirements through process mapping, and the development of solutions and recommendations.Represent AEMO's approach to retail matters on committees, forums and working groups.What you will bring to the roleTertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline.Significant experience in the energy or related industry relevant to the development and operation of regulated markets.Demonstrated well-developed writing skills with an ability to develop internal and external reports, consultation papers and submissions.Well-developed analytical skills including the interpretation and application of market rules and procedures to operational and compliance business processes and systems.Comprehensive understanding of energy industry regulatory frameworks, policies and procedures.
