About the Role
As a Senior Risk Analyst in our Team, you’ll play a key role in helping to maximise operational collections effectiveness and efficiency whilst optimising bad debt charge across Retail & SBB portfolios.. Execute day-to-day activities to support the implementation of risk policy & strategy governing the management of loans in arrears, balancing, customer, shareholder and regulatory objectives.

What will your day look like?
As a Senior Risk Analyst, you will:
* Support the development and implementation of Collections policy, strategies, and practices that are geared towards balancing the trade-offs across customer experience, cost to collect, and delinquency & loss management, via high quality analysis
* Produce, analyze, and draw insights from regular monitoring and reporting to support monthly performance conversations with an operational and strategic focus
* Provide expert education to business units in relation to; performance levers pertaining to a) collections performance and related impacts, financially and operationally, b) improving the efficiency and effectiveness of risk-based collection process using appropriate solutions and their alignment and, c) build collaborative relationships with business partners and other key stakeholders in order to add value
* Design, implement, and evolve programmatic champion-challenger testing across the collections lifecycle with clear hypotheses and adoption of statistical rigour with respect to test design and analysis of experimental outcomes
* Make any necessary collection strategy changes in relevant credit risk systems (mainly CRDE), following the change management governance process
* Share knowledge with other team members to enable and support capability uplift across team to enable delivery of current and future elements of long-term strategy
* Prioritise own tasks to ensure optimal allocation of effort to the things that natter and the effective management of workloads, without compromising quality of deliverables
* Support the provision of timely insights to various management forums and committees on collections and portfolio trends in order to educate a broad stakeholder group and to influence continued focus and investment on progressing collections capability at ANZ.
* Support regulatory engagements, including those of a BAU nature, with relevant insights and updates on key topics and commitments made
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
* Strong analytical and statistical skills, experience in business use of statistics a pre-requisite. Good working knowledge of business, data analytics and decision system(s) tools (such as SAS, SQL, R, Phyton, Excel, PowerCurve and MS Office)
* Strong experience in risk management, with cross-functional experience across the credit life cycle
* Sound project management skills with evidence of successful end to end management and deployment of a credit strategy
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong capabilities to articulate complex analytical information
* Ability to deliver clear and concise messages, with logically structured flow
* Strong facilitation and negotiation skills
* Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and work under pressure to achieve deadlines
* Evidence of proven technical ability, with positively trending behavioural abilities also evident (70% technical, 30% behavioural)
* An understanding of credit scorecard/model development and other assessment systems
* Experience having implemented or been involved in the implementation of a scorecard or decision system strategy
