About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and creative individual with strong technical skills and a keen eye for details to join our wonderful Pastry department.
As a Pastry Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for preparing a diverse range of pastries, ensuring each item meets our high standards of quality and presentation. You will play a vital role in creating exquisite desserts and pastries that delight our guests. You will work closely with our Head Pastry Chef to craft memorable culinary experiences for our guests.
Some of the responsibilities include
* Prepare and bake a wide range of desserts and pastries for the hotel's outlets.
* Collaborate with the Head Pastry Chef to develop and update dessert menus.
* Ensure all pastries and desserts meet quality standards for taste, texture, and presentation.
* Work closely with other departments and kitchens to coordinate service and ensure timely delivery of desserts.
* Monitor and manage inventory levels of pastry ingredients.
* Train and oversee junior pastry staff and interns, providing guidance on techniques and workflow.
A successful candidate will have:
* Recent experience in a pastry kitchen, preferably in hotels.
* Experience in luxury international brands is highly regarded.
* Demonstrated in-depth skills and knowledge of kitchen operations.
* Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards will be essential.
* A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment.
* Valid work rights in Australia.
