Kubernetes Engineer – Python, HA, Performance – Trading Systems - SydneyCompany:Our client is a leading, global market-maker/trading firm that uses algorithmic trading and extremely advanced technology to buy and sell across multiple trading venues worldwide.Known for hiring world-class talent and building elite teams, they are now looking for a specialist Kubernetes Engineer with a focus on high-availability and performance to join the Sydney team.Team:This platform engineering team is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the underlying runtime platforms that the firm's business-critical software applications depend on.The mission is to streamline development processes, establish a consistent technical foundation across regions, and act as a bridge between the technical requirements of application development and the practical aspects of deploying and maintaining those applications in a production environment, minimizing friction, and ensuring that tech teams can operate seamlessly and drive progress forward.Role:This role involves designing, implementing, and managing on-premises Kubernetes clusters to ensure high availability and performance, deploying and managing containerized applications on Kubernetes using internal tooling, assisting in the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines tailored to on-premises environments.In addition, you'll monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Kubernetes clusters for peak performance and reliability, implement security best practices, network policies, secrets management, and develop automation scripts to manage infrastructure components, ensuring consistent environments across clusters.Requirements: Proven experience with Kubernetes, particularly in on-premises environments.Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies.Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.Proficiency in automation scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, etc.).Familiarity with storage and networking concepts related to Kubernetes.Passion for technology innovation and engineering best practices.Bachelor's, master's, or PhD level degree in computer science or mathematics.A history of good tenure in your career history (e.g., 4+ years average).Experience with high performance, scalable banking/finance systems, trading systems ideal.This role would be suited for people with a strong SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) background and specialization in Kubernetes.In addition, your experience should include working in environments with an emphasis on high-availability, reliability, and performance.Ideally, this will be within financial markets, fast banking systems, or any other high-volume transactional environment where performance and latency are key. #J-18808-Ljbffr
