The Team:
Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Microbiology department is a dedicated team that work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community. As a major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.
The Role:
The successful applicant will become an integral part of the current team performing routine and specialised tests in the field of diagnostic/clinical bacteriology in a high paced microbiology laboratory.
You will need:
* Experience working in a diagnostic bacteriology laboratory.
* Have well developed communication and interpersonal skills.
* Have leadership skills and show the ability to be self-motivated and show initiative.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary:
$73,834 to $111,364 per annum + our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

The following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
* Satisfactory completion of a Bachelor degree or higher in Biomedical Science or an equivalent qualification with subjects relevant to the field of pathology from a recognised tertiary institution.

* Previous experience in a diagnostic clinical microbiology laboratory.

* Participation in weekend and out-of-hours call-back roster will be required.
